Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the entry and supplies its results. Van Buren County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission is retained as needed to answer it. The message remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads, including:
- Page-view times and the pages opened
- Device category and operating system
- The referring website, when one is reported
- Browser name and version
- Time spent on visited pages
- The device’s internet protocol address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure how the site is used, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics vendors may combine this activity into traffic reports. A browser can block cookies, though some functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate, maintain, and improve page performance
- Route a search to the selected outside provider
- Measure which resources visitors use
- Diagnose technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Van Buren County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal case information or official court dockets. It publishes general directions to the Circuit Court Clerk, Clerk and Master, courts, and state search systems. Visitor information is not assembled into third-party records or consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information submitted to them. We do not control those policies, so review the provider’s terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Tennessee courts, Van Buren County offices, legal-aid resources, state case systems, and third-party services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination’s privacy policy controls that visit. Review it before sharing personal information.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics vendors measuring use and performance
- Outside search providers processing submitted queries
- Advertising networks serving placements
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when valid legal process requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect the data in our control. No internet service can promise perfect security, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor’s information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary by residence and applicable Tennessee and federal law. The Tennessee Public Records Act and Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34 govern access to government and court records, not the private visitor data controlled by this website. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Ask for deletion when the law permits it
- Decline certain processing where an applicable right exists
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any revised version will be posted here with its new effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically.
